What to expect from Guided Beginnings Care
Information
The amount of information out there for pregnant moms to consume can be completely overwhelming. I will help to break it all down, sifting through to what matters most to you. Through pregnancy, birth & breastfeeding consider me a resource for any questions big or small.
Advocacy
Throughout pregnancy and birth, asking questions or voicing preferences can be a challenge for many. My job is to make sure you have all of the information you need to feel fully informed, confident in your choices, and able to use your voice when necessary.
Partner Support
Doulas do not replace partners, only help them be even better at supporting you! My job is to provide partners with informed suggestions and tools and then they can be as hands on or off as needed. I'm also there to make sure partners get rest and nourishment too!
Physical Support
I am trained to help you move according to your body's and your baby's needs to make labor as comfortable and efficient as possible. You can expect hands on support with positioning and comfort measures.
Emotional Support
Whether this is your first or 5th, with birth comes a flood of emotions. I am there to listen always. I stay closely attuned to your evolving emotional needs so you feel supported from beginning to end.
Coping Techniques
During your home visit, we will practice and identify a variety of strategies to help keep you focused and comfortable throughout birthThis could include music, massage, affirmations, and so much more.

“Aubrey was phenomenal to work with”
“She helped me achieve my goal of an unmedicated birth in a hospital setting by supporting me, and helping my husband understand how to also support me. She was not shy about advocating for me according to my birth plan. She has lots of tools and ideas to guide us through each phase of labor. I would highly recommend her to friends and family!” - C.H Birth Client

ASAP! The sooner you book a Doula, the longer you have access to her support.
-
This is a common misconception, I have supported many clients who have received an epidural. Medication is just a tool, and it is your choice if you want it!
-
It’s difficult for your birth partner to do it all. Doula’s help partners feel more confident and involved in the birthing process.
-
Absolutely not! A Doula is just as valuable during your 1st birth or your 5th.
-
Immediately! I am available to answer questions, provide resources, and talk all things birth right away. I then go on call at 37 weeks.
